Is your inner world louder than the room you’re standing in?

Relief for Highly Sensitive Adults in Kirkland, WA

Do you feel everything deeply, notice what others miss, and find yourself needing to retreat just to catch your breath?

You see all of the nuances in what might go wrong and they play in a loop in your head. You can feel the weight of others’ evaluation of you and the pressure feels unbearable. You can’t help but notice that things seems much easier for other people and ask yourself what’s wrong with you that you can’t seem to handle as much.

You feel it all, intensely.

You care deeply: about the people you love, about the environment, about animals, about how you show up in the world. And because you care so much, it feels extra terrible when you fall short. You may have been called intense, too sensitive, or too much. You have big ideas and potential that are constantly at odds with your energy levels.

Maybe years spent trying to keep up has made your boundaries non-existent and your overwhelm unmanageable. Maybe you’re exhausted from constant anxiety and overwhelm from your own expectations for yourself.

You are ready to find more self-acceptance and feel grounded in who you are.

You’re ready to feel more secure and confident in how to navigate living in a culture built for a different nervous system.

Miranda Keene

Counselor in Kirkland, WA

Nice to meet you, I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Miranda Keene, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Kirkland, WA and virtually across Washington State. I help sensitive adults realize their incredible worth and potential in order to build a sustainable life that works for them.

Together we will unpack your relationship with yourself to find more self-acceptance and empowerment in your differences. You’ll learn how the emotional patterns that keep you stuck are created, become skilled at noticing when you’re in them, and build confidence in your ability to navigate through it. We’ll explore what your unique needs are, building empowerment in how to communicate your strengths while accepting and planning for your limits, and overall creating more harmony in your life.

I work with individual adults (18+) of all life stages and races, ethnicities, spiritual identities, gender identities, sexual orientations, am sex positive and trans-and LGBTQ+ affirming.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Are we a good fit?

With counseling you can truly live without the burden of constant overwhelm, recognizing your strengths and purpose, maximizing your potential, and enjoying the  amazing gifts you were born with.

But you have to find the right therapist for you.

I tend to work best working with folks seeking help in following areas:

  • Managing overwhelm/stress/anxiety

  • Self-esteem

  • Identity exploration

  • Relationships

  • Life transitions

  • Career planning

Please see my FAQ for concerns that I may help you find additional or alternative support for.

Great therapy can be affordable.

As an HSP myself, I intentionally choose to keep my practice small and not work with insurance panels because I believe protecting my clients’ quality of care is my responsibility as a therapist.

To help keep therapy more affordable, I can provide you with a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance for each session. If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance may reimburse you anywhere from 50% to 80% of the allowed amount of your session fee once deductibles are met.

I take your investment in therapy seriously, and my goal is to get you to a place where you feel confident on your own without it. Due to the relational style of my approach (and because HSPs tend to love to work through their inner world!), you can expect therapy with me to take on average 1-2 years.
